A Conversation with All American Maker

A Conversation with All American Maker

There’s a difference between saying something is American made…

…and actually building it that way.

Not just the final product—but every ingredient, every supplier, every decision behind it.

When we spoke with Brendan, the owner of All American Maker, he didn’t sugarcoat it.

Doing things this way takes time.

A lot of it.

The Hardest Part About American Manufacturing

For Brendan, the biggest challenge isn’t what most people expect.

It’s not just cost.

It’s finding the right people.

“The hardest part about American manufacturing is sourcing the components and ingredients. A lot of the old school, old world manufacturers here in the country haven’t updated how they share information online. Their websites are outdated—or don’t really tell you what they do.”

In other words, the companies doing things the right way aren’t always the easiest to find.

So instead of a quick search and a few emails, it turns into something else entirely—digging, calling, asking around, and slowly building a network.

Biggest American Made Misconceptions

One of the biggest misconceptions Brendan sees is around price.

“From a consumer standpoint, one of the biggest misconceptions is that they can get an American-made product for the same price as something made in China.”

But the comparison isn’t that simple.

“There are a lot of layers to it. Is the quality better because it’s made here? Who is the product impacting? Is the company doing well as a result of manufacturing the product here?”

Those are questions that don’t show up on a price tag—but they matter.

What Makes All American Maker Different

What makes All American Maker different isn’t just that their products are made in the U.S.

It’s how far they’ve taken it.

“The thing that sets us apart from almost every other company in similar industries is that we source all of our ingredients from here in the United States.”

And that’s not something that happens quickly.

“It’s taken almost 10 years to get to a place where we’ve made the right connections to make this possible. But it is possible.”

Ten years of trial, error, and relationship building—just to be able to say that every part of the product is sourced domestically.

Most companies don’t go that far.

Favorite Product

Out of everything they make, Brendan keeps coming back to one product.

“My favorite product that we make are our candles. In a sea of millions of options globally, creating something that celebrates the homefront and things about this country that we love is important.”

Candles are simple. But they’re also personal.

“People love candles, and they love the opportunity to experience quality and support local.”

It’s something you bring into your home.

Something you use every day.

And something that, when done right, carries a little more meaning than most people expect.

Built on Time, Not Shortcuts

After talking with Brendan, one thing becomes clear:

This kind of manufacturing doesn’t happen fast.

It’s built slowly—through conversations, through trial and error, and through a commitment to doing things the right way even when it would be easier not to.

Companies like All American Maker don’t just prove that it’s possible to make things here.

They show what it actually takes.

And why it’s still worth it.
