Introducing the Proof Select 2.0 Razor

When we first launched the Select razor (it used to be called the Whiskey) our goal was simple: build a razor in the U.S. that shaved better, lasted longer, and didn’t rely on plastic cartridges or proprietary gimmicks. It quickly became the razor that put Proof on the map.

Since then, thousands of people have shaved with the Select and other Proof razors. And like any tool that gets daily use, the feedback started rolling in. Small ideas or changes, subtle improvements, and thoughtful suggestions from people who have put it through the wringer or shave with it every morning.

We listened to all the feedback, and the result is the Select 2.0. Our most refined single-blade safety razor yet. Built on the foundation of the original, but engineered with years of feedback and real-world shaving experience. Same philosophy to make it here in Montana with precise machining and engineering, with sharper execution and closer shaves.

A More Precise Head Design

The biggest update in Select 2.0 is the head. We streamlined the profile and reduced the front chin so it can reach tight areas, especially under the nose, without awkward angles or extra passes. The result is a shave that feels controlled and precise.

We also updated the internals and spring system to improve the glide and consistency of each stroke.

Closer Shave, Improved Flow

The Select 2.0 head features grooved flow-through channels that keep everything moving. Water and lather pass through cleanly so the blade maintains a smooth glide throughout the shave. Less clogging and easy to rinse.

The geometry of the grooved cap and the blade exposure results in a closer shave. We dialed in the measurements to a thousandth of an inch, making small adjustments, testing, and adjusting more. The result is a smoother pass and closer shave every time, without the razor burn.

Perfect Balance in Hand

We make lifetime tools out of solid metal. With the new Select update, we wanted an even sturdier, heavier feel to the solid aluminum body. We also wanted it to be grippier and feel better in hand.

Inside the Select 2.0 is a 303 stainless steel core that shifts the balance point forward, giving the razor a natural center of mass and a steadier stroke. The weight and balance do the work.

The handle design is updated with concave side walls, while the core is scalloped for additional grip that feels natural in hand. 

Cleaner Blade Changes

Swapping blades is part of the single blade shaving ritual. It's part of slowing down and enjoying the process that we love. To improve this experience, we added a recessed lip on the cap, making it easier to lift and remove the cap for blade changes. No prying or frustration during this step.

A Case Worth Carrying

We also redesigned the travel case. Each Select 2.0 comes with a hand-sewn American bison leather case, now featuring a button closure and an integrated comb pocket for better organization.

It protects your razor, keeps everything together, and travels well whether it’s headed to the gym or across the country.

Still Built the Way Proof Does Things

Some things didn’t change. The Select 2.0 is still:

• Compatible with standard single-edge blades found everywhere

• No plastic cartridges, no subscriptions required.
