Benchmark 2.0

I have been a daily “in the shower” head and full face Shaver for as long as I can remember. Like most I started out with the Mach 3 eventually graduating to those five blade razors, and I went through all the cartridge razors from dollar shave club to Harry’s. About five or six years ago, I saw the light and moved to a Henson Razor, which I was very happy with until I discovered the Proof Razor. I had my first Proof Razor shave this morning, and even the first time… it’s already better than the Henson. I don’t wanna dis the Henson… it’s been a great razor… but it does require more technique… takes a bit longer to shave… and if you don’t closely follow through with your technique, it will not be as close. The Proof is sort of like painting your face. It seems nearly impossible to nick yourself, and once you become familiar with the point of where the blade contacts skin… you can get an extremely close shave very quickly. Does anyone want to buy a couple of Hensons really cheap???

An absolutely wonderful shaving experience. The pivot head is forgiving but still provides excellent feedback throughout my standard three pass (WTG, XTG, ATG) routine. Blades are easily to load, and I love the combination of being in the 'DE blade ecosystem' (with the huge variety of blade options) and having a 'low risk' shave thanks to the pivoting head. I have tried other single edge pivoting head options but they were restricted to essentially proprietary blades, resulting in a sub-optimal, and comparatively expensive shave. I'm currently working through a number of blade alternatives, to date all have been 'at least good' shaves, with a couple of 'stand-out excellent' shaves. I might well wait for a sale/promotion and purchase a second razor to keep in my travel bag.

The razor is excellent! I took a star off because the leather case doesn’t have a good place to store blades, and I wish it that you could buy the razor without the case at a lower price, since the case looks like it cost a lot.

Overall, I like the razor and blade a lot. It handles well, but I am still learning how to use it under my nose, which is tricky.

Really impressed with the Proof Razor. The quality is excellent, it gives a great shave, and it’s super easy to rinse the hair out. After using it once, I knew I wasn’t going back to disposable razors. Definitely worth it.

Outstandingly close and comfortable shave.

I purchased the Proof Razor Benchmark 2.0 for a young man who is learning how to shave. It's very safe and easy to use. The entire kit is a wonderful gift.

First shave was super smooth. Very straightforward, simple design. Well thought out and really like the pivoting shaving head. I love the fact that I'm only recycling metal and don't have to be concerned with plastic. Thank you!

Love this razor. I’m a head shaver and I previously used the Leaf, but decided to give this a try and I’m not going back. Love the head design; Very easy to change blades and the magnets hold well. This thing almost never clogs either. It took me a couple weeks to get the technique just right, but now that I have it down, it’s a great shave. The blades that come with it are pretty nice as well. Very sharp but still quite smooth.

Excellent razor. If you want a mach3 replacement, this is very similar and provides a great shave with no razor burn. I bought the starter pack with the 100 blades and shave cream. Blades are great, shave cream is nice but not my preference.

Love this extremely well designed & high quality razor. I’v used a multi blade razor for 40+ years and I’m enjoying the shave with the Proof razor but still experimenting with different blades to better suit my skin type. I really like having many different blades to choose from.

I like the ease of replacing the blade and the quality of the razor is very nice. I do however have more difficulty shaving under my nose and around my mouth. I end up with nicks that I didn’t get with the five blade disposable razors and I find myself having to go over spots several times to get the close cut I like.

It took a few shaves to learn how the razor works. Like under the nose and the lip area. Like the feel of the razor. The razor holder is fantastic. Keep making great products

Best shave since I began shaving in 1970. I especially appreciate the rectangular faceted handle, because I can control the angle of the head, which is impossible with most round-handle DE safety razors.

The blade gap is small, making for a mild shave, so I use multiple passes for whiskers that point every which way under my chin. No nicks, no razor burn.

I use CREMO shaving cream and Feather blades.

So far this has been a pleasent shaving experience.

One shave down and man was it easy and smooth. I came to proof after originally buying a supply single blade razor. Like I said one shave in and I found the razor for me. Proof was easy, fear free, and much like shaving with a Gillette which I used prior to single blades. I think the biggest thing for me was there was no fear with each pass. With the supply I was constantly trying to figure out angle and would end up with more nicks. Proof was easy and intuitive to use. No nicks one shave in. Love the case, the feel, and just everything. Been a head shaver for many years. Started out using the good ol Mach 3. It is great for starters but those cartridges can really add up. Also the multiple blades would always bump me up if I dared to go against the grain. Then I discovered the leaf razor and its also great for head shaving but instead of using 3 blades I ended up using only one blade. Then this started popping up and I heard so much about it. Single blade and pivots like a cartridge. Took me awhile to pull the trigger because I was afraid of amassing too many razors. I am so glad I purchased this. First shave against the grain and it was amazingly intuitive. Surprisingly shaved my dome faster than my leaf! So happy to finally own a Proof razor. Can’t wait for the next shave.

Precision, quality, and aesthetics.

I normally don’t do reviews or comments on products. The Proof Benchmark 2.0 is the exception. I’ve tried over a half a dozen of the newest and latest brands that use safety razor blades with no success until now. This second generation design provides the smoothest shave with less effort; it is ergonomically simple and comfortable to hold; and changing blades is literally a snap. Love the soft leather case. In my opinion, nothing beats this product.  I never thought I would say that I look forward to shaving, but I do. Nice job Proof!

The razor is of good quality and is easy to use, I only give it 4 stars because I wish there was additional settings for a more aggressive cut for longer hair, but as a daily driver it works great.

As a beginner I found the gem blades it came with really aggressive. I put a derby blade in there, just became my favorite razor . Hope they come out with a proof nail clipper .

Extremely pleased with my new razor. The build quality is superb. Love the weight and balance. Very easy to install the blade. Love the fact that several blades are included and your instructions insert suggested several different blades depending on how aggressive you prefer your shave. As someone who's been shaving with a double edge razor for a while, this was very easy and comfortable to use. The leather travel carrying pouch is terrific. Well done fellas.

This is a very good piece. This is by all means the exact 2.0 razor I bought from you except it’s literally lighter than the 2.0. Definitely would recommend both to anyone who wants to get a better razor. I love that they both have spring loaded tops. This is an extremely mild razor that’s easy to use and great for my sensitive skin. also I have the straight razor and love it and I WANT a Brass straight razor!!!!!! Hint
