Customers praised this lightweight shavette for its innovative magnetic blade system and quality construction. Professional barbers highlighted the excellent blade angle and ease of use. However, some noted design concerns: limited blade exposure at the tip affects precision in tight areas, and a few reported safety issues with magnetic parts.
Been a barber for 40 + years have always used the feature razor, with 20+ students going through our barber academy every 1500 hrs the straight razor training was a problem as the razor has to lay at a 30% angel to not cut or cause razor burns I bought the first one and let the students use it then sent feed back about changes thank you for hearing us. This razor was a complete surprise on how well and easy it is to shave with. Great design! The only suggestion or feedback I would recommend is that the tang end be a little longer to allow you to rest you finger on it while shaving. Thanks for a great product!
Best straight razor I’ve ever used! I love how easy the magnetic pieces hold the blade in place right away and you don’t have to fumble with it. Also, it’s lightweight and well made!
Purchase this razor from proof a few months ago and finally let my girlfriend use it on my full head of hair this weekend this was her first time she has ever used a straight razor and is not a barber. She started and just kept going in about a hour when she got done with it my head it was completely smooth this is a well made razor just like the rest of the Proof razors.

Well made . Light and soild, fits well in the hand , blade angle is great. Clean look and easy to change the blade. Would recommend to other barbers .
The quality is so impressive
I feel compelled to leave a review for this straight razor despite the minor technicality that it has not yet arrived.
Five stars.
Why? Because in my mind, it is already everything I hoped for: impossibly sharp, effortlessly elegant, and imbued with the kind of old-world craftsmanship that makes you question why you ever trusted a cartridge with five blades and a marketing budget.
At this point, the razor exists purely as a concept—Schrödinger’s shave, if you will. Until I open the box, it is both the best razor I’ve ever owned and the one most likely to humble me in front of my own bathroom mirror.
Shipping notifications have become a daily ritual. Each update brings me closer to either achieving barbershop-level precision… or discovering new and creative ways to apply bandages.

It’s a beautiful shavette (not a straight razor) that’s made out of nice material. I originally bought it due to its cool magnetic clip system for holding razor blades. However, it could benefit from another iteration on its overall design.
Great for the fine tuning. Blades ladt a long time.

I personally give testimonial as to missing my families Christmas party due to this razor giving me a shaving injury. I’ve seen the Proof company refer to these instances so I know it is a dangerous flaw. It traps hair follicles when the magnetic parts buckle causing severe bleeding, and misguides. You are putting yourself at risk with this new product. I appreciated the new contraption, but it is a safety risk. I have had straight razors since the age of 18. I get smooth shaves, typically never had a problem. There is inherent risk with straight razors, but I’ve had many smooth and close shaves from trusted barbers. This item is a risk you will not want to take.
Fantastic razor. Light weight, easy to lead and remove blade. Looks ice. Glides well. I like the handle angle.

Great quality, a bit to get use to since I am new to the this style of shaving. I am enjoying it.
I’m not to sure about this razor. I like to know where the blade is going when I’m shaving someone, with this razor, you do not. There is a great amount of space from the tip of the razor that should have more of the blade and does not. So when you need to get in the small crevices, it does become a little bit more difficult. The metal and weight of the razor is light, but when taking the razor out of the magnetic side that is one thing that you have to be careful with because the blade will stick to the magnetic lid if you’re not careful.
I absolutely love it, it's a much better shave than the 5 blades, it doesn't irritate my skin and it leaves me much better off

It’s an odd design at first glance however I’ve come to enjoy the feel of using it on my clients. Its become one of my go-to’s
Absolutely love it feels like the last one I ever buy. I just wish I had a second one with the blade more exposed.
I'll start off with saying I am a barber and use if differently from other people.
Build quality is nice, it's pretty light weight. The magnetic connection works well and the whole things pretty. It's decent for the price.
Now what I didn't like was how Chunky and blocky the tang is, becuase of that it limits my mobility with it making it not my go to razor holder. I know I could have returned it if not happy with it but it looks good on my station so it will just be an expensive decoration that gets used every now and then.
