We compiled years of customer feedback and reviews to refine every detail of the new Select 2.0 Razor.
The 2.0 features a smaller, streamlined head with less front chin for easier access under the nose and a closer shave. An updated spring system and improved head geometry deliver a smoother, more precise cut. Grooved flow-through channels keep water and cream moving so the blade glides clean.
Inside, a 303 stainless steel core shifts the balance point forward for a steadier, more controlled stroke. Subtle ergonomic refinements, including concave sidewalls and scalloped steel detailing, make it feel locked in without adding bulk.
We also reworked the case. The chrome-tanned bison leather build now includes an integrated comb pocket and secure button closure, keeping your essentials organized and protected whether at home or on the road.

I am not in your target demographic. I'm an old guy who's been shaving, mostly with DE razors, since the 1960s. I've always been a fan of the pivoting head, and of the ones I've tried, this is the best one yet. It's the razor that OneBlade tried to be, but failed. For my first shave I used the blade it came with; for my second I used a Feather; for my third I used a Feather with a shim. That upped the efficiency noticeably. I may try using a second shim, but haven't yet.
Fantastic razor, great shave easy to handle and well built. The magnetic that hold the top plate and razor blade is a great design!

I’m a daily dome and face wet shaver. After watching Dave from OhioShaves on YouTube I decided to try the Proof Select razor. I’m impressed. I wish I bought this razor months ago. It shaves quickly and efficiently and leaves my face and dome baby but smooth. It’s also a beutiful razor that’s American made and comes with a nice pouch as well. I might grab another razor for my dad as well.
This razor has been literally the best I’ve used. And I’ve owned all the heavy-hitting brands. Leaf, Henson, Supply are the other main ones. I’m 46, to me, it’s the craftsmanship and ease of loading and the close shave with near zero learning curve. The magnetic loading is quick and easy and holds great. Happy to say, this is the last one I needed to buy!!
I have been using Gillette cartridge multi blade razors for decades. I have always had a problem with ingrown hairs, bumps and irritation.
The Proof Select 2.0 is my 3rd attempt to find a safety razor that works well for me. I have also tried Rockwell and Henson razors, but since I was coming off a Gillette with a pivoting head, I just could not make them work and ended up returning both.
This is the one! Because of the pivoting head is was much easier to get used to. And the more I use it, the better I am getting at it! I do not get the ingrown hairs like I used to. I will occasionally get one on the back of my neck or my chin, but it is minimal compared to the Gillette. It does take me a bit longer to shave, but the process is way more enjoyable. I purchased a badger hair brush, Proraso pre-shave and shave cream in a tube and I feel like I'm my own old-school barber!
Needless to say, I highly recommend Proof razors. I feel that the Select 2.0 was well worth the extra money!
Been using the proof razor since Christmas 2024.when a Barber on 10/3/2024 took it upon herself to shave my head completely bald I went in for a haircut and left without any hair on my head at firstwhen I seen what she did I was devastated but quickly I grew to like the way I looked and felt but I couldn’t afford to get my head shaved every day at the barber shop and the barber suggested that I buy a good razor the proof razor is a awesome razor a good razor made in America!r
Very rarely do I write reviews, but I had to for this product. I am an experienced wet shaver, who shaves his head and face.I have vintage DE razors as well as modern. The proof select 2.0 by far is the best single edge razor I’ve used, very smooth. I highly recommend this product.
I’ve really enjoyed using the Proof Razor. The single-blade design gives me a super smooth shave without the irritation and razor burn I used to get from multi-blade razors. First time razor buyer here. I’ve always let my beard grow long and just used electric trimmers to maintain, but have started to like a clean shaven face. I started with an electric foil type razor and it left my skin bumpy and red, like really bad. After some internet research I decided to try single blade razor since they seemed to be gentle on the skin. Pretty quickly decided on the Proof razor because it’s made in the USA and that’s a must, and also that it has a pivoting head so I figured that would be easier for a newbie like myself. Now having used it for a few weeks I love it. It’s easy to use, the blades that Proof sells work fantastic for me, I have literally 0 red bumps or irritation or anything. I use the natural shave cream Proof sells and just a regular face cleanser. Like I am kinda annoyed I didn’t discover this sooner. I bought the bison leather bag and extra blades and have a nice shave kit that will last the rest of my life. overall I highly recommend for any one wanting to try out the single blade razor world this is a perfect choice.
Love this razor! If it’s ever offered in brass I will pick up a second one it’s that good. Great job guys.

The Proof Razor changed my realtionship with shaving. I used to always get razor burn and bumps and all sorts of irritation but now, it's all gone. Great people making a great product 100% in the US. I had the first version of the razor and had some gripes with it but they addressed them all and this 2.0 version is perfect!
I bought the Proof Origin first it is a very good razor but the Select 2.0 in my experience has been a good bit better. I’ve tried several different blades and they have all shaved well but the Perma Sharp so far has given me the best shave. When yall make the brass model like the Select 2.0 it will be my future purchase. Thanks for making Great American Made Products.
I loved the original select razor it is so simple and easy to use. Gives a perfect shave with a great balance of efficiency and gentleness. The select 2.0 has just taken it to a whole new level. The slimmer head and the added weight make it just that much better, easier to shave under the nose, better balance and feel in hand, same great shave. The updates to the leather carrying case are also great, it has a smaller over all form factor and easier to use is a win for traveling with your razor. If you are wondering if it’s worth upgrading to the 2.0 my opinion is that it 100% is!

If I had it to do over again, I'd have bought the Benchmark rather than the Select. Not because of the $40, but because of the 9 grams; which makes it feel overweight and imbalanced to me. Perhaps if I grasped the handle further back behind the steel insert, I would feel the benefit of the extra weight. Perhaps, but I grasp it right behind the hinge pin, precisely where the added weight is, making the razor feel handle heavy, and imbalanced to me. That's my only criticism, and it's circumstantial. It's a great shaver; among the best, and that's factual.
This thing rocks. Just get it. I was coming from a Henson razor which was a huge improvement over your “standard” DE razor, but Proof is in a totally different league. The Proof razor gives me a closer shave with less irritation/ cuts, and I can accomplish this in half the time it would take me with the Henson razor because it’s so easy to use. 10/10!
Very bad when you go against the hair, maybe if you fix the angle a little you can have better results. The construction and the design are beautifull

This razor is the best I’ve ever used. After many years struggling with shaving underneath my nose and lips I have no more irritation or face cuts. I’m also no longer tied to expensive propietory blades. This razor shaved smooth as silk and my wife is highly satisfied with my clean, unblemished shave. Highly recommended!
